People of all ages develop back pain. I’ve seen kids as young as 10 and adults as old as 86 (and everyone in between!) come to me with back pain issues.
Recently, a volleyball player from Nebraska Wesleyan was referred to me by her friend, who thought I might be able to address her low back pain issues.
Mackenzie was in a LOT of pain – sometimes crying after practices and games because her back hurt her so much. But that’s what we all do, right?? We just tough through it because life keeps going on and we still have to still get things done (like going to work, taking care of your kids, etc).
However, it was getting to the point where Mackenzie was seriously having consider taking a break from volleyball because her low back was causing her so much pain!
After her Initial Evaluation, I showed Mackenzie how her spine was unstable from a structural standpoint, and also explained how this also resulted in her having weak “Core” stability muscles (absolutely KEY to aid in back pain prevention) – which in turn had resulted in her back being in spasm and giving her incredible pain.
After developing a custom treatment specific for Mackenzie, we started to treat her with chiropractic care, stabilizing her spine with foot orthotics, and strengthening her with Core Stability exercises on the Power Plate.
Now, she’s feeling AWESOME, and she can continue to play volleyball pain-free!
